PREPARATION & INSTRUCTIONS
The exosmart preparation films, equipment checklist and device guidance in one place.
Start with the demonstration. Use the overview below to follow the sequence, and keep the current manufacturer’s Instructions for Use alongside your kit.

INSIDE THE CONCENTRATION STEP
Follow the plasma through the fibre lumens, then look closer at the membrane that separates the retained preparation from the permeate.
One fibre, enlargedReciprocal movement carries plasma along the inside of the hollow fibres.
Water and permeable small solutes cross the membrane into the outer compartment and collection bag.
Platelets, vesicles and retained proteins remain in the preparation as its fluid volume falls.
A SMALLER VOLUME, CONCENTRATED PLASMA BIOLOGY
Retained components occupy a smaller fluid volume. The bars compare preparation volumes; individual component recovery and concentration vary.

03 / BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Set out the equipment before starting the blood draw.
Use an aseptic workspace and check the kit packaging, expiry date and connections. The device and syringes are for a single patient and a single procedure.
The hollow-fibre device and supplied components.
Your validated centrifugation method, with collection of both PRP and PPP.
Two 20 mL syringes and a 10 mL syringe for collection, as specified in the device instructions.
Prepare the collection materials and appropriate clinical waste disposal.
04 / THE SEQUENCE
An overview to accompany the demonstration.
PRP + PPP
Centrifuge using the selected plasma preparation system. Collect the PRP and PPP together; the standard workflow starts with approximately 30 mL of combined plasma.
DEVICE SET-UP
Identify the plasma connections, hollow-fibre cartridge, air filter and filtrate bag. Follow the kit’s Instructions for Use for connection and priming.
APPROX. 3–5 MIN
Process the combined plasma through the hollow-fibre system. Water and permeable small solutes pass into the filtrate bag as the retained plasma components concentrate.
FINAL PREPARATION
Recover the concentrated autologous plasma using the collection sequence in the device instructions. The standard workflow yields approximately 6 mL. Collected volumes vary with the plasma preparation system and recovery; follow the device Instructions for Use.
